DayZ Beta Overview


  • The Pink Squad

    The beta server has been running for a few weeks now. The server was primarily open for fixing bugs, and testing edits to the gamemode. Such as adding custom items and new vehicles.

    General Changes

    The first thing that was added was an addition of new vehicles...

    The second being a custom item which was spray paint to change the colour of vehicles.

    Some other changes were made to the radar script so instead of showing health and armour it shows blood and humanity.

    Along with this, another item was added an RS Device. Which allows a player to hide them self from the radar. This item consists of 3 parts, the blueprints and 2 others which are used to craft this item.

    Without the item equipped. You are still visible to radar.

    With RS device equipped. Removes the player from the radar.

    Extra Resources

    Airdrop resource has been completely rescripted allowing for easy addition for items.

    A zombie boss resource has been added.

    The gate closes upon entry, opening once the boss has been defeated.

    When zombie boss dies it drops an army gate with a random rare item.

    zombie boss drops, each has an equal chance of dropping how ever only one item from the list is dropped.

    The next steps are implementing bases, these will be priced and only be allowed in the south of San Andreas. With the end of this beta, we will be able to add custom items, new vehicles, events and more.

    The server will be up in a few days along with information of any additions and base pricings.

    base protection ? what do you mean by this ? shouldn't the runcodes be enough ? don't make the bases unaccessable by other players thus base owners should be careful when opening the gates
    it's very hard to plan to rob the base so don't make it impossible with the scripts ...

    @zackary well on previous servers with bases we had rules against base camping so I don't think base raids would even be possible.

    I would like to know because the map in dayz has already closed almost all the glitches , you just tryna make the bases unaccessable by other people, are you that scared to get your stuff robbed while you are online ? LOL

    @zackary O.o, I dont see the problem with adding this? It's just an extra precaution as there was an issue before with people getting into bases through the gate with vehicles. Bases are already inaccessible by other players. And if someone did get into someone elses base we'd be the ones getting the flack. To me at least if that hassle can be avoided it's certainly a good thing.

    @zackary I locked the topic because beta is over nothing to do with your asking. And in regards to that question, it's happened before and we got the blame and had to deal with the situation. Since they would argue that someone was camping. Also if we had base protection we could make the bases less isolated and not have to be surrounded completely by walls and such.
