Hello everyone, lately 'We' (or I specially) have been getting complaints about 'us'(staff) for ditching the roleplay and not upgrading it in spite of our short-handed scripters and the lack of time so I'm benefitthing this occasion to humbly ask you to lend us your hand either by scripting or doing whatever you think that the server needs.
Now is time to speak, speak now or shut up for ever (I'm tried of your lame ass excuses about not upgrading) Moreover, the players who consider helping will be rewarded.Greetings.

@zackary "Lame ass excuses"
They are the main reasons why it can't be "Upgraded". The gamemode itself is really old if we want to upgrade it. It'll require a rescript of the whole gamemode, which will take months. The hard part is never the programming but what comes after that, first of which is debugging, even something simple may takes hours to debug imagine a whole gamemode, even if we manage to do this part there will be for certain bugs that are missed which will require active scripters. Then there is the actual community feedback, the current gamemode as bland it is, it still gets players who knows what will happen an "upgrade" of the rpg server. They may not like and if they don't like it they'll just move to another gamenet copy. There is no guarantee after all that work it will actually sustain a player base.
These are just some of the problems with deciding to go forward with this. If you think these are "lame ass excuses" then you're just being naive to how much work, effort and investment is actually needed for this.

@Hex is wrong
@Hex the scripts are still working well for its age. MTA made little developing progress since 1.1 (for which the gamemode was written) and I only had to redo the SQL storage. I can conclude that the gamemode is fairly optimal for 1.5. "Modern" aspects like fancy DX stuff and shaders is something the server is missing, but that's a design choice I've made (because DX is already here since 1.0).
My view on the server
Point is that I have very little time and interest in improving the gamemode any further. I don't get a lot of joy from owning the server the recent year, which is the result of a mix of dealing with player bullshit and real-life obligations.
Added to that is that my scripts have apparantly leaked out. I'm not striken by that it happened, but more by how it happened. Somehow there is a person around in this community that I trust with my scripts, but who apparantly gives no fucks about them and doesn't have the balls to tell me that he did it.
I think it's very nice that people are willing to help me. I sometimes get offers from people, but I think it's hard to let these people work on the components. Often I do not even know who these offers come from and whether they have secret plans, so I can't trust them with my scripts (that they have probably bought already from an Egyptian black market).
Instead, I've decided on the following. If people are sending me scripts for the roleplay server, then I check them to see if the scripts are scripted properly and whether there are no secret parts in the scripts (I have some submitted scripts lying around that give the scripter specific powers). In my experience, the quality of the submitted scripts is very low, so they do not qualify for the RPG server.
Besides that we have people like @Simple01 . I know that he has all zombie mode scripts to start with, so there's no danger in giving him full access. I also know that I can trust him on delivering properly-made scripts, based on my judgements on his earlier-made scripts. That's why I allow him to work with the zombie mode scripts. If he manages to improve the server, that's great. If he suddently disappears and never shows up again, that's also fine.
Conclusion
My current mentality is the following: as long as people are enjoying* the server(s), I'll keep them up. I'm not planning to do big improvements other than imminent security bug fixes.
Sidenotes
*: "Enjoying" is measured in "showing interest in server" which is qualitatively rated by the player count.

I think this already happened lol.
Anyways, I may have been wrong about my judgments about the gamemode. But my points still apply regardless. I'm not against the idea of an "Upgrade" just that people in the past have been given opportunities and never have really done anything with them. If this does get anywhere, I wish you good luck.

@Hex i totally get what you mean and i agree with that, i've already explained plenty to the players but somehow they are still biased about our staff's performance so I had to make this topic which I expected it to be empty and no one to help , even so i did this to ,atleast, let these reports at ease and make them shut up , However, you've already clarified the whole reason in detail regarding gamemode,scripting issues and the most important factor : the time also considering @JasperNL 's logic that i kinda agree with it to , our server is made like this since years, we can't obligate everyone to like it nor hate it at the end it's their own opinion so as i said I'm making this topic to pretty much let the reports seize their minds and ease their souls.

our server is most likely a deathmatch/freeroam server we're using a clickbait server name tbf, I'd like to see rpg upgraded into a real rpg server but we know this will never happens for lack of people interested in helping with scripting stuff, I'd like to help but I dont know any script stuff
-
@Makanaski the gamemode principles are from dp2.3, far before real RPGs were standard in MTA and SAMP. Our server used to be a die-hard RPG back in the days
Why would I change the name?
-
The reason behind this is that the server was never supported with new scripts and ideas when it had around 40 players online and 50-60 players at peak hours.
-
RPG needs to be revived too then, gonna rush with the Zombie Mode!
-
@Simple01 I like you even more
-
But if you want more players to reach the number you want to reach him I will talk to some of the players go to bring players from other servers
-_-

hex tell me just
whadafuq worth ur time huh?
playing gamenet,Chatting with some folks in discord and staying with em for hours,playing Gmod or whatever those games are
im not saying dont have fun and shit but atleast give a bit of time for some game fixes,like if u give 2-1hour per day for scripts n shit u will get the server from 'FUCKserver' to "aWSOMENESS" in a short time,also im not playing much on that server cuz im tired doing the same shit over and over again

Just because hex knows how to script dosent mean he must spend all his time in it, and making a new job or even such a simple thing as a new vehicle in car dealership can take so much time

A new job doesn't take more than 3-4 hours.
-
@simple01 3-4 hours is a long time.

People have their lives to manage. Plus 95% of the playerbase have dudes who're still studying. You can't expect 'em to abandon their studies. Hex may script when he has the time to do so and the mood, it ain't like he's a slave or stuff.
